Gearing up for the next big event!

So I have received word of three return vendors for August's Art-to-Go Do-it-Yourself Event! Claire Barrett, with her lovely jewelry; Kacey Boone of Subsixstudios, gorgeous jewelry designs; and Joanne Kalisz of Happy Fantastic, great t-shirts, dresses, bags and more! Thanks for coming back!

We are currently registering for August, so if you have some art, craft, or other creative goodness you would like to share with the world, now is your chance to showcase in a friendly, creative environment! Registration is $20.00, and includes a table or space if you use other furniture, and advertising online in Seven Days, posters and flyers around town, other online advertising, and more. Feel free to email me for more details or to request a registration form!

Beautiful things

In addition to our lovely guest vendors, Studio STK's Art-to-Go Shop will be open for business this Friday evening, with such wonderful items for sale as these beaded earrings by Jen Berger...

And handmade paper jewelry from Portland, Maine, design studio Ember Grove...

We also have some special surprises for the evening... well, I doubt they will be surprises long. Check back tomorrow (I just can't keep a secret!)

Updates and Goodies for you!

I updated The List, adding links and the last vendor additions. Now, we wait for the big day! Posters for the event can be downloaded in PDF form here. Please feel free to distribute them wherever you may go! I will be doing the same.

Also, if you are the owner of a blog, website, or other form of updateable online property, I have made an Art-to-Go DIY Show and Sell button by which you can proclaim your participation. Get it here or paste this block of code into your site:

Thanks so much to all the vendors! Everyone else... we're looking forward to meeting you on the 6th of July!

Vendor Spotlight: Claire Barrett

I personally think this necklace from WIlliston jewelry designer Claire Barrett is just terrific -

Clever and unique, the small pendants - each featuring a braille dot symbol - make a beautiful overall design as well! See more of Claire's work on July 6...

Wow.

That's all I can say! We have had just a terrific response, so much that we have to close registration for this month so we still have room for shoppers! If you had your heart set on participating, but didn't get your registration in (for all you who have it on the way, I know who you are, don't worry!), let me know and I will put you on the waiting list for next month.

That's right. Same time, same place, in August!

Also, make sure you sign up for our mailing list (over on the right) to keep updated on Art-to-Go News and Events!

So much excitement!

So I think this Art-to-Go DIY Show and Sell is going to be a blast! We have had tons of great responses (emails are coming in just as fast as I can answer them - makes me feel very important!!) from local crafters and artisans and I am looking forward to letting you know a bit about each.

First in the door with a confirmation was Kacey Boone of SubSixStudios right here in Burlington. Kacey makes really lovely jewelry and accessories, I just love her color combinations.

There is still (increasingly limited) space, so if you are interested, email me right away and I will send off a registration form!

Wonderful things

I feel like sharing today, so here are some crafting blogs. First, the local talent...

subsixstudios - a local member of the Burlington Craft Mafia

Burlington Craft Mafia - not really a blog, more like their website, but hey, they're just that great!

May Day Studio - a letterpress workshop in Montpelier VT. Pretty neat looking journals.

And from further afield...

SouleMama - she writes about her family and all the lovely things she creates.

Disdressed family and crafting.

Liz Berg beautiful quilts from an artist in California.

That's all for now. If you or someone you know has a local craft blog/website (local to Burlington VT, I mean) send the link my way. I would love to have a look, and share it here!
