Closing our doors

Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the last two and a half years. We have thoroughly enjoyed meeting you all, and will miss the opportunities Studio STK gave us to interact with such wonderful artists, crafters, and appreciators!

At Studio STK we worked hard to promote the work of contemporary, local artists, and we hope you will continue with this after we are gone from our physical location. Studio STK will live on in cyber-space - check back for the everchanging aesthetic you know so well!

And be sure to join us this coming Saturday for our goodbye bash! We will be liquidating our inventory of Studio STK merchandise (get yours now - they will be collectors items in a few years!!!) and of course there will be artwork galore!

See you then!

dug Nap

Original drawings by dug Nap are now available online in the Studio STK Flat File Art Inventory. If you live around Burlington, you have most likely seen dug's clever prints. His drawings, however, are harder to find.

Studio STK now has an exclusive representation of these fabulous drawings, and we encourage you to make one your own - when they are discovered by the rest of the world they are going to go like mad!

For immediate release...

Studio STK announces an exciting exhibition of Digital Paintings by Andrew Reach. The show, entitled “Whimsies, Conflicts and Desires,” will open with a reception on September 28th from 6 to 9 PM; the exhibition will run through October 22 2007 at Studio STK, 12 North St. in Burlington Vermont.

Andrew Reach was a successful architect in California and Florida, until a crippling illness forced him to leave his work. As a continued outlet for his creativity, and a therapeutic practice to combat pain, Andrew began painting digitally – using computer graphics programs to create worlds of his own. Andrew’s work has been influenced by his renowned architectural pursuits (in addition to several private residences in Los Angeles and Miami, he designed the Miami Courthouse and the University of Miami’s Frost Museum), as well as the hardships and joys of his life. His works, printed at sizes of up to 72 inches, consist of photographs mingled with colors and forms, and nearly always include his carefree “whimsies” – expressions of the artist’s continued spirit in the face of intense pain. Ranging from intricate patterns to psychedelic swirls of intense color, all of these works surpass their paper boundaries to create mesmerizing and compelling experiences for the viewer.

We look forward to seeing you at this amazing show!

Flat File

Have a look at our newly operating online selection of Fine Art. We call it our internet flat file. More will be added shortly, when we recover from the excitement of the new installation exhibit presently under construction and to be unveiled this Friday evening... (Abby Manock, "BAG TAG: Expisode Back Home," check it out at Gallery Studio STK).

For now, browse (and buy? why not!) the lovely pieces by Ira Cummings, Barbara Nedd, and S.R. Wild. Then come back again later and see some more!

(Remember, no Art-to-Go this month. Go to Burlington's South End Art Hop instead!)

Happy Friday!

hello friends,
just a little update - we will not be holding an Art-to-Go event at Studio STK in September, since Burlington's South End Art Hop is happening on the First Friday weekend. Our next date will be the beginning of October - mark your calendars now and... well, I guess you can wait a little while. But definitely get busy making things, so when the time rolls around you can have a table of your very own!

We are considering changing the Art-to-Go event from Friday evening to Saturday afternoon... any thoughts?
