Yippee another vendor!

Hello there,
I am pleased to announce the addition of Colleen McLaughlin, of Its Elemental (see her blog here) for the August Art-to-Go event. Colleen's art dolls are fabulous creations, with faces you would swear are alive. She also creates cards and small artworks - we'll just have to wait and see what she brings!

Gearing up for the next big event!

So I have received word of three return vendors for August's Art-to-Go Do-it-Yourself Event! Claire Barrett, with her lovely jewelry; Kacey Boone of Subsixstudios, gorgeous jewelry designs; and Joanne Kalisz of Happy Fantastic, great t-shirts, dresses, bags and more! Thanks for coming back!

We are currently registering for August, so if you have some art, craft, or other creative goodness you would like to share with the world, now is your chance to showcase in a friendly, creative environment! Registration is $20.00, and includes a table or space if you use other furniture, and advertising online in Seven Days, posters and flyers around town, other online advertising, and more. Feel free to email me for more details or to request a registration form!

In my absence...

hello all! Sorry for the disappearance. I am actually travelling in Belize at the moment, teaching art at a summer camp with a Methodist Church group. Today we had our first day of teaching, and I had two groups of about 20 or so students making journal books. If any of you crafty people have terrific ideas for keeping large groups of very young children busy, entertained, and under control, by all means send 'em along!

Meanwhile, back at Studio STK... our second Studio STK Art-to-Go DIY Show and Sell is accepting registrations. Since I am so far away, I really am a bit out of the loop as to what exactly has been happening so far, but I am going to invite Sage - SSTK owner - to update us all on the state of things. I will be back before the next show, and I just hope I don't spend all my money down here, since I am sure there will be so many tempting handcrafted goodness for sale right in Vermont.

Here's to hoping you are all well! See you in August!

Thank you thank you thank you!

I want to send a big big Thank you! out to all of our vendors from Friday night! I hope you all had a good time, it was lovely having you and your amazing work altogether in the Gallery! I would love to hear feedback - questions, concerns, ideas, advice... this event is very much in progress, so your thoughts on how to make it better will be much appreciated!

Thank you also to our visitors - spread the word!

Here are a few photos...

Extra! Extra!

The surprises (sorry, I got so busy with fireworks and in-door grilling I nearly forgot!)

First off, new 12 North St. occupant, the Women's Whole Health Partnership, will be offering $5.00/10 minute massages for women during the Art-to-Go Event! How exciting is this? The new massage studio is peaceful and relaxing, and the owner, Ania, is one of our new favorite people around here. Such a great addition to the evening, and to our space in general!

Secondly, dug Nap will be joining us to promote his intimate, "unhatted" performances of his one man show, "My Imaginary Girlfriend." These performances will take place July 13 & 14 at Studio STK, and tickets are available through Studio STK - or buy them straight from dug tomorrow evening!

See you all then!

Beautiful things

In addition to our lovely guest vendors, Studio STK's Art-to-Go Shop will be open for business this Friday evening, with such wonderful items for sale as these beaded earrings by Jen Berger...

And handmade paper jewelry from Portland, Maine, design studio Ember Grove...

We also have some special surprises for the evening... well, I doubt they will be surprises long. Check back tomorrow (I just can't keep a secret!)
